Emerging Programs

Based on community need and energy, the CDGLCC supports new and innovative programming that is responsive to current issues facing LGBT people.

2010 Emerging Programs include:

Trans Pride

Trans Pride works to promote the wellbeing of the transgender and gender non conforming community in a safe and empowering space. The Trans Pride Program is dedicated to empowering transgender and gender non conforming people and their allies through social opportunities, community building, resource sharing, and advocacy. Informal gatherings take place on the First Tuesday of each month in the Rainbow Cafe at 332 Hudson Ave in Albany from 7:00-9 PM and a topic centered discussion takes place at the CDGLCC every third Tuesday of the month from 7:00-9. Additionally, the Trans Partners Group takes place the Second Tuesday of the Month from 7:30-9 PM. Topics range from legal issues to successful transition in the workplace to coming out. Join us for a discussion or volunteer to facilitate about a topic of interest! Center Families

Center Families works with LGBT families, allies and their children to provide support, educational programs, and social opportunities. Partnered with Lambda Family Circle, Center Families works to empower same-sex families, allies and their children throughout the Capital Region.
