Center Support

Center Support includes the Council’s support groups such as those for youth, women, men and family/friends of LGBT people. The Center also hosts several recovery groups including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous. Additionally, on a daily basis, CDGLCC staff members answer numerous phone calls and emails from folks asking for assistance in locating a diverse range of other resources available in our community (such as LGBTQ friendly businesses, groups and organizations for communities of color, transgender folks, friends and family of LGBTQ people, etc.) Elsewhere on this website, you can find links to various local, statewide, and national organizations. It is the purpose of the Center Support programs to address the broader need for social and peer support to help individuals cope with and celebrate events in their lives. These include, but are not limited to, coming out, grief and loss, relationship issues, isolation, parenting, questioning sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Linkages

The Linkages program is an effort by the CDGLCC to link people seeking organized religious/ spiritual support with those organizations & congregations who provide these supports in a welcoming & affirming way. The CDGLCC will maintain accurate information and educate our community about these congregations and organizations. The CDGLCC will work with communities of faith to define their status as welcoming & affirming congregations. Work in ending the use of religion as a tool of hatred to be used against our community and help our community to see that there are opportunities for full inclusion in many religious traditions.
