Alix Olson, Pamela Means, Broadcast Live and C.E. Skidmore
The Linda: WAMC's Performing Arts Studio
339 Central Ave., Albany, NY
8 PM
$20
Presented by Progressions Concert Series and The Linda.
Made possible in part by the New York State Music Fund,
established by the New York State Attorney General at
Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
Alix Olson is an internationally touring folk poet and
progressive queer activist-artist. One part peace vigil, one
part protest rally, and one part joyful raucous concert, Alix
ignites audiences everywhere she performs.
Pamela Means is a Boston-based Out (spoken), Biracial indie
folk artist whose “kamikase guitar style” and punchy
provacative songs have worn a hole in her guitar. Armed
with razor wit poetry and irresistable charm, Pamela Means’ “stark, defiant songs” (New York Times Magazine) set the
status quo and the stage afire. With Truth as ammunition, a
Pamela Means performance brings the fight for social
justice and human dignity to the forefront of a new
generation.
Born out of the activist community of Albany, NY, Broadcast
Live is a one of a kind live-music experience. The mission of
the band is to uplift and empower people through poetry
and hiphop, brought back to its roots with the sounds of live
instruments and rich beats. The music is an entertaining balance of political commentary and superbly-crafted music.
Local musician, C.E. Skidmore is a transplant from downstate.
She lives in Albany, with her partner and their two dogs. C.E.
is a gifted writer in many aspects and works as a journalist for
the Glens Falls Post Star when she’s not working on her next unrequited love song.

In an era when DJs are a dime a dozen, when it’s simply too
easy to throw a CD into a player, it takes something really
spectacular, a bit of theatrics, to keep club and circuit goers
enthralled. DJ Drew Montalvo from New York City (aka DJ
Drew G.) will be doing just that by taking over Club Phoenix
during The Orange Party. When fans go to hear Drew spin at
such clubs as XL, Jaded, Roxy, Stonewall, and SBNY (all in
NYC), it’s not because they know that this up-and-comer has
received coaching from the best, it’s because his style and
his shtick are more than just a gimmick. This party will offer
bottle service in the 3rd floor lounge, body painting, drink
specials, give-a-ways, and more!! It’s going to be a great
night for partying, dancing and socializing!! Did we mention
the hot Go-Go Boyz & Gurlz? This is one party you do not
want to miss! Tickets are available in advance at ROCKS and
